StrangerFestival kicks starts with an opening party and finishes with the (MTV) Stranger Awards with piles of prizes for the winning videos. Then the jam-packed StrangerFestival programme continues with video workshops, master classes, debate trainings, screenings and an exhibition showcasing the best videos from the StrangerFestival competition.

Here's a sneak preview of the festival programme (complete programme will come out in May):

Workshop / Fri July 4, 10.00 and 14.00 & Sat July 5, 10.00 and 14.00
On the spot
Facilitators: Janneke Kupfer & Vava de Janeiro
Make a video in one take! The first day of the workshop is about developing a storyline and rehearsing in a given setting. During the second day, you will make the final script and shoot your one-take film. We work in small groups.

Workshop / Fri July 4, 14.00 & Sat July 5, 10.00
Get your videos out there!
In this workshop we focus on how to promote your video, vlog or online profile.
Who are Europe's famous video stars and what can they learn you? This workshop teaches you about (well-known) success stories and tips and tricks about the use of tags, type of files, use of imagery in videos and copyrights. Bring your own video (on DVD) and get feedback on your work. The workshop results in your personal promotion plan.

Workshop / Fri July 4, 14.00 & Sat July 5, 14.00
Vlogging
Facilitator: Nerimon & TBA
This workshop is facilitated by two popular vloggers. One of them is Nerimon (http://youtube.com/user/nerimon), who gets more than 30.000 views on each of his videos.
He will teach you about video diaries and the easy access possibilities to build your own video blog. The workshop focuses on how to build your own personal story online and generate viewers to your site and results in recording your first message for your (new) video blog.

Workshop / Fri July 4, 10.00 & Sat July 5, 14.00
My own campaign
Facilitators: Stephany Hankey & Andrew Lowenthal (Tactical Technology Collective)
How can you translate your personal views on politics and society into solid stories with a clear message? This half-day workshop is an inspirational and instructional meeting on how to express yourself in those issues you find important. This workshops tackles subjects such as citizen journalism and campaigning, and the boundaries of freedom of speech.
