When you eat yoghurt for the first time, it tastes delicious. But when you eat an ice cream after, you discover that you prefer that. Than you try the chocolate cream and this seems to be the favourite. What if you hadn’t tried it? You would have eaten yoghurt all your life. How sick would that be?
Hombre is a short film about a girl who wants to taste them all (men!), kicking off her research in Spain.

“She will always forgive me” says Precenta, Nisrin agrees “ To be a mother is really hard” and looks at her 8 brothers and sisters.
Four teenagers with roots in Marocco, Surinam and Turkey produce a film together with director Anna Spohr that is so open and fresh, it puts European integration-problematic where it belongs: in the past. The girls portray their own mothers in the familiar surrounding, talk politics in the kitchen and find out about their dreams while folding the laundry. The daughters are young and expose their modern freedom in dissing all boys no matter what national background. It is then that the difference between the two generations becomes obvious.
Filmed by: Precenta Turfkuier (16 years old), Efza Üstüner (17 years old), Fatma Yalçin (16 years old), Farah Ocran (14 years old).
Idea and film directing by Anna Spohr, AllAboutUs FilmFactory (Netherlands)

Do you remember how terrible it was to be a teenager and not be part of it all, and even worse to be laughed at? Alban gives you just that feeling. When it almost gets unbearable Alban knows to find the spot where everyday-reality turns into magic and his loneliness can make him fly.

‘I’ll put on lip-stick and then go look for a husband!’ Inga is looking for a boyfriend, at least we think she is. Does she really want to be with somebody or does she want it because all her friends left her? And what did her grandmother think of boys when she was 17 ? A film about the old and the new Latvia with three generations of women and their opinion about men in general and european ones specifically. A dramatic documentary with a happy ending! A cinematographic answer to the connection of beauty and sorrow. Latvia’ s history with a girl seeking boy-perspective.
